For the wholemeal spelt dumplings, knead all ingredients into a dough that is difficult to tear and let the dough stand for about half an hour. Put water in a large pot and add 2 teaspoons of salt.

Either cut out the gnocchi with a spoon or scrape them off the board and put them into the boiling salted water. The dumplings should cook for about 3-4 minutes, then take them out of the boiling water in portions, quench in cold water and serve.
