For the Asian chicken wings, rinse the chicken wings with cold water and pat dry.
For the marinade, peel and finely chop the garlic cloves. Chop the chili pepper very finely. Peel and finely grate the ginger root. Mix all ingredients for the marinade well in a shallow bowl. Place the chicken wings in and mix well with the marinade. Let soak for about 30 minutes.
Grill the chicken wings on a hot grill for 12-18 minutes, depending on size, turning often. When pierced with a needle, only clear meat juices should come out.
