Instructions:

Make a shortcrust pastry with the room-warm margarine, curd cheese and flour. Refrigerate for 1/2 hour.

In the meantime, grate, dice or thinly slice the washed apples and mix with grated almonds or nuts.

Roll out dough to double sheet size and trim edges straight. Save remaining dough.

Place dough on a cake tray (baking paper).

Spread apple mixture in center, leaving enough dough on right and left sides to fold in center. Sprinkle raisins on top if desired.

Fold over the free side pieces from the right and left sides into the center.

Cut narrow strips from the leftover dough to use as a lattice on top of the cake. Brush with the beaten egg.

Place in the middle of the preheated oven and bake at approx. 200 °C. The duration of the baking time depends on the filling quantity (medium filling quantity: approx. 30 minutes).
