For the baking mix for birthday brownies, mix the flour with salt and baking soda and pour into a pretty, well-sealing jar with a 1l capacity. Using a tablespoon, gently spread the cocoa powder over the flour and press down firmly.

Mix the granulated sugar with the citric acid and pour it into the jar, also pressing it well. Now add the chopped macadamia nuts on top and finally the chocolate sprinkles.

The jar should be so full that the lid still compresses everything a little and nothing can move. It is best to tape the lid tightly all around with clear tape.

Preheat the oven to 175°C top and bottom heat. Line the chosen baking pan with baking paper (or grease and flour well). Pour the baking mix into a bowl and mix well.

Beat the oil, eggs and baking flavor with a mixer until well blended. Mix in the baking mixture. If the batter is too firm, add a little water or milk. Pour batter into the pan and bake for about 35 minutes.

Either let the birthday brownies cool, or enjoy them warm.
