For the spiced apple rice casserole, bring rice to a boil in milk with a pinch of salt, turn down to low heat and cook until done, about 20 minutes.

In the meantime, peel apples, remove core and cut into slices. Beat eggs with sugar, vanilla sugar, butter and the spices until foamy. Carefully fold in the finished rice, then add the apples and stir briefly.

Pour everything into a glass baking dish and bake for about 30 minutes at 220 °C top/bottom heat until the spiced apple rice casserole has taken on color.
