Try this delicious cake recipe:
Sift the flour on a baking board and spread the butter evenly on it in flakes. Sugar, vanilla sugar, yolks, lemon zest and grated almond kernels in the center form and knead all ingredients into a smooth shortcrust dough. Wrap the dough in parchment paper or aluminum foil and let it rest in the refrigerator for 2 hours. Preheat the oven to 200 °C.
Roll out the dough thinly in portions on a floured work surface and cut out cookies and rings in the same number and size.
Place the cookies and rings on a baking tray and bake on the middle rack for 10 minutes until golden. Carefully lift the cookies from the tray with a kitchen knife and cool on a cooling rack. Stir the jam with the juice of one lemon. Sprinkle the rings with the powdered sugar. Spread the jam on the round cookies and place one ring on each cookie.
