Try this delicious cake recipe:

1. put butter with powdered sugar, 1 egg yolk and salt in a suitable bowl. Sift the flour over it and knead everything together with the dough hook of the hand mixer, then with your hands to a smooth shortcrust pastry. Shape into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap and leave to cool for one liter.

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Grease a large baking tray. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to a 25×30 cm rectangle. Knead the marzipan with rum and 1 tablespoon water to a spreadable paste. Spread this on the dough.

Finely chop the candied orange peel and lemon peel and sprinkle over the top. 3.

Roll up the dough from the long side and cut into 8 thick slices. Place the rolls on edge on the baking tray so that the filling is visible on both sides. 4.

Brush the rolls with the remaining egg yolk and top each with 1 almond. Bake the bobbes in the oven on the second shelf from the bottom (fan oven 180 °C , gas mark 3) for 25-30 minutes. Cool on a cooling rack.

The pastries will keep for a few days and stay fresh in a tin.
