To make the whiskey porridge with honey, bring the water and milk to the boil, remove from the heat and stir in the rolled oats with a wooden spoon or the handle of a wooden skillet and let sit for a few minutes.
Stir in the salt and the whiskey and bring to a boil briefly, then simmer over medium heat for a few minutes. Keep stirring as you do this. Turn down the heat to low and let the mixture swell for 10 – 15 minutes. Again, keep stirring.
The consistency should be rather viscous. Finally, stir in the honey to taste and serve in a bowl.
