For the red wine chocolate cake, first separate the eggs and beat the egg whites. Then beat the yolks with butter and both kinds of sugar until nice and fluffy.

Gradually add vanilla sugar, grated chocolate and wine. Sift flour with baking powder and also add the dough. Mix everything well and pour into a round baking pan. Bake at 180 degrees for about 45 minutes. Remove from the tube and let cool really well.

While the cake is in the oven, prepare the sauce. To do this, grate the chocolate, bring the whipping cream and wine to the boil. Remove from the heat, add the chocolate and stir until smooth.

Once the cake is cold, stir the crème fraîche and pour it on the cake. Finish the red wine chocolate cake with the sauce and decorate with chocolate shavings.
