Makes about 30 pieces

Set aside 30 nice halves of the walnut kernels, as small as possible. Grind the remaining walnuts and knead them together with the raw marzipan mixture. Form into small balls with your hands and press one walnut half into each marzipan. Caramelize sugar in a frying pan until golden (be careful, the liquid sugar is very hot!). Using a tsp, mold a little caramel over the walnuts and set. Place in paper sleeves and serve as fresh as possible because the caramel will soften repeatedly over time.
