For the potato rösti (from raw potatoes), cut the washed and thinly peeled potatoes on a raw food grater or with a knife into very fine strips, mix with egg and spices.

Heat a coated pan with lard, form potatoes into very flat loaves with a spoon and fry slowly for about 5-6 minutes until golden brown. Turn the potato rösti and fry on the other side for about 2-3 minutes.
