For the grilled halloumi with bacon plums, pour slivovitz or water over the dried plums and allow to steep briefly.
Meanwhile, peel the ginger and chop very finely. Sprinkle the halloumi slices with turmeric, pepper, salt a little and spread the ginger on top. Drizzle some chili oil over it and let it sit for a short time.
Now lift the plums out of the schnapps, drain and wrap each in a slice of bacon. Press the bacon well or fix it with a toothpick. Heat a little oil in a large frying pan and slowly fry the bacon plums in it until crispy.
Fry the halloumi slices either shortly after the bacon plums in the same pan or separately, also from both sides, until crispy.
Serve the grilled halloumi with fresh white bread, couscous or on a leaf salad.
