Instructions:

Soak the washed beans in water for one night. Cook in water together with half of the onions and the garlic cloves.

Season the cooked beans with salt.

Cut the rest of the onion into thin strips and fry them leisurely in oil until browned, then remove them. Dice the bacon and fry it lightly in the same frying pan.

Remove the onion and garlic cloves from the beans, prepare the beans into puree with a wooden ladle, add the bacon with the oil and cook on low heat for 20 to 25 minutes. Season with salt. To serve, garnish with the crumbled feta.

Can be served hot, warm or possibly cooled as an accompaniment to many Mexican dishes, especially tacos, tostadas and enchiladas.

Our tip: Use a bacon with a strong flavor – this will give this dish a special touch!
