Instructions:

Toast the bread slices in the hot fat until golden brown. Cut the bacon into strips and fry in the fat. Rinse and clean the mushrooms and cut them into slices. Add mushrooms and onions to bacon and sauté. Season with salt and pepper. Rinse parsley, shake dry and chop finely. Stir in parsley. Spread mushroom and bacon mixture evenly in a greased ovenproof dish. Arrange bread slices in a flaky pattern on top. Mix salt, milk, eggs and paprika. Coarsely grate cheese. Add half to egg milk and pour over bread slices. Cover with aluminum foil and bake in a heated oven (electric oven: 200 °C, gas: level 3) for about 20 minutes. Remove the aluminum foil and sprinkle the remaining cheese on top. Bake the casserole at the same heat for about 10 minutes.

Serve with a cool beer.
