For the cinnamon waffles with fresh berries, first prepare the dough. To do this, beat the eggs in a bowl with vanilla sugar or scraped out pulp and sugar until really fluffy. Mix the flour with the cinnamon, slowly melt the butter.
Stir the milk into the egg mixture, add the flour as well as melted butter and mix to a rather thick batter. (Stir in a little more flour if needed).
Mix the sorted berries with powdered sugar, stir in a dash of rum or Grand Marnier and allow to steep.
Preheat the waffle iron, brush with a little oil (butter burns too quickly!) and pour in a little mixture at a time. Bake into golden waffles. Arrange on plates while still warm and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Place the marinated berries next to or on top of the waffles and garnish with whipped cream.
