For the sour cherry dumplings, first cut the sour cherries into small pieces. Squeeze out the curd. Mix with the remaining ingredients for the dumplings and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
Melt the butter in a pan. Mix the breadcrumbs with the cinnamon and fry in the butter.
Bring water to a boil. Form dumplings from the curd mixture and place in the lightly simmering water for about 15 minutes.
Roll the curd cheese dumplings in the breadcrumbs and serve sprinkled with powdered sugar.
