A simple but delicious cake recipe:

Soak the oatmeal in the milk for an hour. Cream sugar, butter and egg, mix with the oat flakes and baking powder.

Spread a loaf pan with parchment paper. Pour a third of the dough into it, top with a portion of the apples peeled and cut into thin slices, mixed with spices and nuts. Fill them alternately with the oatmeal and the apple mixture.

Bake the cake at 175ø-180 °C for one hour. Then turn out onto a baking rack and sprinkle with powdered sugar.

The cake can also be cooked with other fruit (e.g. pitted cherries).
