Instructions:

Finely chop the onion, sort out the lentils and rinse.

Sauté the onion with the garlic and turmeric in butter until translucent, add the lentils and water and cook everything together over low heat with the lid closed until the liquid has evaporated.

Next, mash the lentils with the back of a spoon, season with salt and add the remaining ingredients.

Heat the soup and garnish with chopped cilantro leaves.

Soup garnish: long grain rice or potato cubes if desired.
