Instructions:

Heat a little water with the sugar and honey and boil to a syrup. Cool, pour on the flour, stir in the chopped walnuts and candied orange and finally the cornstarch.

Knead with your hands until you have a thick dough. Roll out and cut into strips 3 cm wide and 2 cm thick, roll into cylinders and form into balls.

Place a small amount of flour in a pastry bag and spread the balls evenly on it, flattening them slightly with the palm of your hand. Bake in the oven at 180°C for about a quarter of an hour.

The “Cavallucci” are served with a sweet dessert wine, the “Vin Santo”.
