Instructions:

Melt the butter and beat with a whisk until fluffy and airy. Add powdered sugar, chopped cinnamon, bitter almond oil, almond kernels, chopped candied cherries, finely chopped salt, flour, candied orange peel and eggs. Beat this mixture heartily for a few min so that the ingredients combine well.

Then add the rest of the flour, the rest of the eggs, the brandy and the yeast dissolved in lukewarm water. Mix everything well and finally add the stiff whipped cream.

Line an oblong loaf pan with buttered parchment paper. Pour the semi-liquid dough into it and let it rise for half an hour in a warm place. Later put it in the oven heated to medium temperature. When the surface is golden brown and no dough hangs on the stick, the cake is cooked. The average baking time is 45 minutes.

Let it cool in the oven and turn it out only after several hours.

In England, this cake is also eaten warm as a pudding and served with either vanilla sauce, liquid brandy-raspberry juice or butter.
