Instructions:

For the brandy figs, carefully peel the figs and place the fruit in a decorative glass.

Rinse the limes with hot water and rub dry. Thinly peel the lime zest with a peeler and blanch (scald) in boiling water. Drain and add to the figs in the jar.

Place water with sugar or honey in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Simmer, uncovered, for about 25 minutes.

Squeeze the limes and pour the juice over the figs along with the brandy. Allow to cool slightly, then close the jar tightly and store the brandy figs in a cool, dark place.
