A simple but delicious cake recipe:
1. divide the marzipan into small pieces with your fingers and mix with the dough hooks of the hand mixer in a baking bowl with orange liqueur until smooth.
Score the dates lengthwise on one side, fill with the marzipan mixture and sprinkle with pistachios. On the side, stick 2 walnut halves diagonally upward into the marzipan like wings.
3. melt the cake glaze in a baking bowl in a water bath. Dip the underside of the walnuts into the chocolate and place on plates lined with parchment paper. Stick 2 chocolate or sugar pearls each into the marzipan as eyes.
Tip:
For variety, you can cook the walnut beetles just as well with pecans.
