For the beef curry, finely dice the onion and garlic and brown them in a pan with butter, add the chopped beef shoulder, as well as curry powder, pepper and salt.
Pour in the beef broth and simmer, covered. Meanwhile, peel the potatoes and cut them into small pieces. Add to the meat after about 20 minutes.
Continue to simmer with the potatoes for about 20 minutes until they are soft. Arrange and serve.
