Place flour in a large enough bowl and make a well in the center. Crumble the yeast into it. Stir with a little lukewarm water and leave in a warm place with the lid closed for about 15 minutes.
Add about 1/2 liter of lukewarm sourdough, water, salt, syrup and kitchen herbs and knead everything together to a smooth dough. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 60 min.
Shape the dough into balls (not too big), place them on a greased baking tray, sprinkle with water, poppy seeds, sesame seeds or caraway seeds and bake in a preheated oven at 175 °C for about 50 minutes.
