One day before baking the cake, soak the raisins in the rum. Add the ready-made yeast and the sugar to the flour in a large enough bowl and mix well with a hand mixer. Add the egg, the pinch of salt and the soft butter in flakes. While mixing, gradually add the lukewarm milk. Meanwhile, mix the dough with the dough hook until it separates from the edge of the wide bowl. It is better to knead too long than too short. Let the dough rise for about half an hour in a warm place with the lid closed.
Remove the skin from the apples, core them and cut them into small slices. Preheat the stove to 200 *C. Spread the dough evenly on a well-greased baking sheet with flour, making a slight edge. Remove the raisins from the rum and spread them evenly on the dough. Arrange the apple slices evenly in rows on the baking sheet. Pour the remaining rum over the apples. Bake the cake on the middle shelf for about 30 to 40 minutes, then cut into pieces.
The cake can be served still warm, e.g. with vanilla sauce as a substitute for apple strudel.
