For the Virginia cake, cream the butter and gradually add the sugar, vanilla sugar, eggs, rum, milk and salt. Mix flour with cornflour and baking powder and stir in by the spoonful.
Fold the ground almonds and chopped chocolate into the batter last. Pour the batter into a greased cake pan.
Bake in the preheated oven at 180 °C for approx. 50 minutes.
