Instructions:

Remove the skin from the pears, remove the stalk, flower buds and core. Cut into pieces and cook in 1 l boiling water until tender, but not too soft. The pears should still have a little bite.

In the meantime, prepare the dough for the flour dumplings.

Peel, rinse and grate the potatoes. Squeeze them well and mix them with the flour. Whisk the egg in the milk and stir into the potato mixture. Now season the dough with sugar and a pinch of salt, then stir with the butter until smooth.

Cut small dumplings with two teaspoons and put them into the boiling pear broth. Rise to the surface and cook for five minutes. Sweeten as desired and serve warm.
