For candied orange peel, thinly peel the peel with a peeler – the white orange skin should not be included. Cut the peeled orange peels into fine strips. Empty into a bowl and mix well with the granulated sugar. Let rest for 30 minutes.

Place the orange peel-sugar mixture in a saucepan and add 750 ml of water. Bring to a boil and simmer over medium heat for 1 hour. Strain. Line a cake rack with baking paper and let the orange peels dry on it. Only when they are completely dry, transfer to cans.
